About Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Scholarship Programme
The Allan Gray Orbis Scholarship programme aims to provide funding for students to study at the university level, as well as provide support and development for those who demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset.
The Allan Gray Foundation was founded by Allan Gray in 2005 out of his dream to create a sustainable contribution to the country, by helping students who are the future entrepreneurs of South Africa.
The foundation receives its funding from the donation of Allan Gray limited’s taxed profits. The foundation currently operates in 4 countries across Africa, namely: South Africa; Namibia; Swaziland, and Botswana.

- Meals
- Monthly living stipend
- Tutor allowance
Students also receive support for personal development (mentorship, industry mentor, and like-minded community); access to entrepreneurial mindset development (workshops, speaker, and seminar, and experiential exercises).
What Study Fields Are Available?
The supported study fields are the same for both Matric students and students who are already at university in their 1st and 2nd year.

- A minimum average of 65% for your 2021 mid-year exam results
- Intention to study the fields mentioned above.
- Applicants must be under the age of 22 in the year of their application
- South African citizenship
2nd Year University
- A minimum average of 65% for your 2021 year-end exam and 65% in the 2021 mid year exam
- Intention to study the fields mentioned above
- Applicants must be under 23 in the year of their application
- South African citizenship

Application Process

- By applying you will need to sign up for an account
- Make sure you have your certified copies of your certificate, grades, and education ready
Application Deadline
- The deadline for submission of applications for Grade 12 applicants is on 30th April.
- For 1st and 2nd-year university students, applications will be closed on 30th October.
