Tips for Writing a Scholarships Thank You Letters
It is important to appreciate the donors for their generous acts in providing the scholarship you enjoy. You should be able to show in writing the impact of the scholarship on your education.
Personalization of your thank you letter isn’t bad. Yea, you must do that as it communicates better feedback to your donor. You can get to know about your scholarship’s history by clicking Award Information when you log in to ScholarWeb. You will then find information about your scholarship and its donor.
You will need to talk about yourself though briefly. Such information should include; Where are you from, your family background, the high school you attended, and the activities you were involved in there
Talk about your future goals, what you intend to achieve after completing your education it’s important. Your donor would love to know your long term ambition and you intend to achieve them
It is also important to state any progress made since the last letter you wrote if you’ve once written to your donor. An update as to what has changed in your life since your last letter would be necessary
Take note of your grammar, spelling, and coordination of your letter. It is important because it communicates your personality and the professionalism of the committee that selected you.
Scholarships Thank You Letter Requirements
The world is now a global village, in other words, your letter must be completed and submitted online via ScholarWeb. Do not send any hard copy or handwritten letter as it will not be accepted
Don’t include such salutation as dear Mr this or that in your letter. The salutation can be added when the letters are printed. Do not also include ‘Sincerely’ closing in your letter.
Submit an individual thank you letter for each scholarship if you receive multiple donor-funded scholarships
If your scholarship is renewable, a yearly thank you letter would be required of you each year you receive the scholarship.
Submit your scholarship thank you letter in ScholarWeb on or before two weeks from the date you accepted the offer. In the event of not meeting up with the date or timing of submission, your scholarship award might be rescinded.
